I once read about a story of a king who hired a carpenter to build houses for his subjects. The man's work pleased both the king and those who lived in the houses. Therefore the carpenter soon become wealthy from the king's generous fees.
One day , the carpenter reasoned," The king is paying me handsomely, yet I am the only one who knows the quality of the materials I use and the extra effort I take. From now on, I'll make the outside of the houses beautiful, but on the inside, I'll use materials that don't cost as much."
The Carpenter did exactly what he planed and as he had anticipated, nobody knew that he was cutting corners and he became even more wealthy.
Sometimes later, the king asked the carpenter to build the finest house he had ever built. " Spare no expenses." The king said. This man was very happy because of the prospect of making more money. He used low- quality materials and sloppy workmanship. When he was finished, the king paid him for a first-rate job, and then said, "And now I give this house to you as a gift for all you have done."
After some days, the carpenter fell from the horse and broke his back. So, he could no longer practice his profession again. He later exausted all his money and had to depend on the rent from the house given to him by the king as a gift.
About ten years later when the man was sixty-eight years old, a strong wind blew, followed by a very heavy rain. Many buildings collapsed and the carpenter's house was not spared. His wife and youngest daughter did not come out of the building alive.
The king and his subjects attributed this calamity to "the anger of the gods". They were not totally right since they did not know the gods. It was only the carpenter that was absolutely right. He knew the cause. He was the god! He later died in misery, poverty and regret a year later.
Think of yourself as the carpenter. Each action you take in a nail hammered, a board placed, or a wall erected ,constructs your future home. Your action today will either make or mar your future.
Build wisely. It is the only life you will ever build. Your life today is the result of attitudes and choices in the past. Your life tomorrow will be the result of your attitudes and choices you make today.
Sometimes when you throw stones at others you injure yourself. A Yoruba proverb admonishes us not to throw stone into the market for some relative may be hit ( Yoruba is a language spoken in Western Nigeria).
We must learn to do other people's work the very way we would want ours done. We make happen to ourself what we make happen to others.
What goes around not only comes around, but also stays around. Spit up and eventually the spit will end up on your head.

Naomi Campbell offended after Cadbury likens her to a chocolate bar
Naomi Campbell is considering taking legal action against Cadbury, after the company launched a new advert that compared her to a chocolate bar. The company unveiled a new campaign last week with a slogan reading "Move over Naomi, there's a new diva in town". And Naomi is mad as hell...lol
"I am shocked. It's upsetting to be described as chocolate, not just for me but for all black women and black people. I do not find any humour in this. It is insulting and hurtful." Naomi told reporters
Cadbury released a statement saying: "It was certainly never our intention to cause any offence and the campaign itself is a light-hearted take on the social pretensions of Cadbury Dairy Milk Bliss," "Cadbury takes its responsibility very seriously indeed and we would never produce any marketing activity we felt might cause offence to any section of society."
I personally don't think there's anything wrong with being associated with delicious yummy chocolate candy. I would have been honored. But maybe Cadbury should have paid her for using her name or something. What do you think, was this offensive?

YOUR SELF ESTEEM
Your self esteem is that deep down feeling you have about yourself, your opinion or the judgement of your own value - the extent to which you think you matter in life.
While some feel unique because of their figures, looks, environment and the likes, others feel inferior for the same reasons. It is the feeling that says 'I like myself' or 'I dislike myself' for a consideration of factors. A person with low self exteem believes that down is where he belongs. If invited up, he will give a list of reasons why up is not the place for him. Low self- exteem is a result of an acute oppression. If you invite a person him to a nice place, he says " that's all right, you didn't have to do that." Buy him something nice , he tells you that its too much. You didn't have to do it. He will try to refuse it but if you can get him to receive it, he will apologize for receiving it.
YOUR SELF IMAGE
The mirror is man's best friend and his best invention. It gives him a true protrait of himself. Self image is like your self- portrait. It is who and what you imagine or picture yourself to be.
Psychologists have proved that you will most consistently perform in a manner that is in conformity with the image you have of yourself.
Interestingly, your self-image may be or may not be an accurate reflection of who you really are , rather it is how you perceive yourself to be.
Healthy self image is one of the key factors in the school of success and destiny. This is so important because you will probabaly speak, act and react as the person you think you are. To sing your song of destiny, you will need to have the right image and perception of yourself.
Some people have been told all their lives that they are nothing and would never amount to anything. After a while they also believe it. Once this happens they are in trouble because it will take only divine intervention for them to matter in life and play their unique music of destiny.
You must always remember that every man is created equally in God's image and likeness, and all are therefore inherently the same in value. No man can make you human. You were born so. Therefore no one has the right to assign value to you - or to devalue you. Your value is not dependent upon what others think or say about you. It is inherent in who you are because of your creation by God.
If you see yourself as unqualified, insignificant, unattractive, inferior or inadequate, you will most of the times act in accordance with your thought. If your self-worth is low, you will imagine yourself as a born loser, a washout unworthy of being loved and accepted.
Therefore, watch those words that come from your mouth. ' I can never do anything right' 'Why me'; 'I will never amount to anything'. These are few of the words that dominate people of low esteem. They see
themselves as worthless nobodies with price lower than that of the sparrows and the grasses that fade away.
On the other hand, people who see themselves as God sees them are usually happy people. They know that they have been created in God's image and that He has crowned them with tremendous honour. They know that God has a purpose and a plan for them, and they would rather be who they are than being any other person on earth.
So, we can soar like an eagle or stumble like a chicken. We can meow like a kitten or roar like a lion. We can howl like a wolf or squeak like a mouse. It's up to us. We are what we believe we are. Sometimes our self image can be likened to the story of Tarzan who grew up with monkeys. Though it had the features of a man, it possessed the mentality of monkey; consequently, it acted like one. So, what matters most is not who we are but who we think we are.
I challenge you to discover and have a positive image of yourself. Believe you are unique and that God created you for a purpose. This is the only way you can recover from the mental torture that your wrong perception has brought upon your life.

A visit to the stream behind Lead City University.
Out of boredom, in "Boredom City" A.K.A Lead City University, myself and a couple of friends decided to visit the new hostels which are been built in the university. Little did we know that there is a stream right behind the hostels. So out of curiosity we visited the stream.
