Man can’t urinate, defecate EIGHT years after Trailer ran into him …needs N6m for surgery

UTOMI
Hello TRENDS, remember my Christmas message, (CLICK HERE IF YOU DID NOT READ IT), In the message I mentioned and encouraged us to show love and help someone this Christmas season. Well I came across an article on Punch on the web (Punch Newspaper) [CLICK HERE TO READ THE FULL ARTICLE ] about a man  34-year-old Patrick Utom who can't urinate nor defecate after being knocked down by a trailer whose break failed September 7, 2002. He was rushed to an un-named hospital where he was rejected due to his critical case and referred to the general hospital.

Eight years later  Utomi can only pass urine and faeces through the artificial openings in his abdomen. He will require at least two major surgeries as early as possible, that is, closure of the colostomy and urethroplasty in order to establish normal faecal and urinary flow. This will help prevent the long term complications of the artificial openings.”

An estimated sum of N6 million, £24,000, $40,000 would be needed for the surgeries to be undertaken in the United Kingdom or India.

The sad part of the story is that because of his present state, His wife and most of his family members have abandoned him.

I am using this medium to appeal to well-meaning individuals, corporate bodies, non-governmental organisations, religious bodies and the government to please come to his aid.

Utomi lamented, “Most times I think about committing suicide. But when I looked backward at how God saved me on the fateful day, I would hold my peace. Surviving has been miraculous. Nothing is as painful as living an artificial life. On a daily basis, I use one bag of colostomy bag, which costs N1,500"

TRENDS let us come to the Aid of UTOMI, by raising some money to help him. I honestly do know how to contact him yet but can always find out.

You can contact Punch News Paper on how to help him or you can simply contact me (+234 (0) 703 711 5945)  to make your donations to him.

God bless you as you touch the live of someone this season.............
