The Federal Government has declared February 15, 2011 as public holiday to commemorate the Id-el – Maulud, the birthday of Prophet Mohammed
The Minister of Interior, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho (retd.), who made the declaration on behalf of President Goodluck Jonathan, urged all Muslim faithful to pray for enduring peace and progress of the country as the nation prepares for general elections this year.
A statement by the Assistant Director, Press, Ogaziechi Theodore, quoted the minister as wishing all Nigerians a pleasant and happy holiday.
